20 Weeks of Fresh, Sustainably-Grown Vegetables

What’s a CSA?

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a reciprocal partnership connecting farmers and customers to share in the bounty of the local food and agriculture movements.

Throughout the growing season, the farm provides a weekly share of agriculture products to customers, or “members“, in exchange for the financial support provided during the off-season for the purchase of seeds.

This partnership provides members with weekly, fresh, in-season vegetables for less than market rate, while creating a reliable market for the farmer.

Fall Salad Mix

We have reached capacity for the 2022 season. Thank you for your interest!

As a member of Schul Farmstead’s 2022 CSA, you’ll receive a box, or share, of vegetables for 20 consecutive weeks, from the week of June 13 to October 28.* Shares generally meet the needs of 2-veggie lovers or a meal-prepping family of 4.

We believe healthy soil produces nutritious and tasty veggies, so we employ ecological practices such as composting, cover cropping, mulching, and crop rotation. We never spray pesticides, fungicides, or herbicides on our produce.

Weekly shares include a 7oz. bag of salad mix, a bundle of fresh herbs, and 5-10 additional vegetables (with some fruits also planned). You can catch a glimpse of what crops to expect each month in your share on our calendar.

CSA Benefits

Each week you’ll receive a variety of vegetables and herbs at your pick up location. Your share might look like: a bag of salad mix, bunch of basil, bundle of kale, 3-4 onions, 1/2 pound beets, head of cabbage, bundle of celery, pint of cherry tomatoes, quart of bell peppers, and 2 eggplants. See what you can expect each month in your share.

As a CSA member you’ll receive:

  • Weekly 7oz. salad mix (mix of lettuce, baby greens, herbs, and edible flowers)
  • Bundle of fresh herbs
  • Variety of 5-10 vegetables each week
  • An email each Sunday detailing what will be in this week’s share so you can meal plan/grocery shop
  • Tips for making the most of your share in the weekly e-newsletter
  • An E-book with over 50 recipes that take 30 minutes or less to prepare (available to download in June)
  • A guide for properly storing and prolonging the life of your fresh produce (available for download)
  • Options to purchase additional fresh vegetables and herbs for preserving or canning, as available (and add them to your weekly pickup)
  • Options to purchase add-on shares of other local products (and add them to your weekly pickup)
  • Direct tie and opportunity to speak with the people who grow your food

In addition, some intrinsic benefits include:

  • A connection to your local agriculture and farming community
  • Learning to eat with the seasons
  • Confidence in how your food is grown and land stewardship
  • Decreasing the miles your food travels from field to table
  • Opportunity to savor heirloom vegetable varieties
