for your Backyard, Grown on my Farm

Are you ready to stop wasting time searching for organic & heirloom seedlings at local nurseries only to settle for conventionally-grown ones that have been treated with pesticides & fungicides?

Are you tired of buying seeds & struggling to have thriving seedlings to transplant into your garden?

Are you ready to have a summer garden filled with vegetables, herbs, & pollinator-attracting flowers?

This is why my farm offers a garden seedling sale every May – to help you get ready for the bountiful summer you’ve been dreaming of!

On my farm, I grow a variety of heirloom vegetable, herb, & flower seeds that turn into thriving seedlings for your backyard. All of the seedlings started in OMRI-certified organic seed starting mix that is jam-packed with all the macro & micro-nutrients seedlings need to grow strong.

And these aren’t just any seeds. The seeds I choose to grow for the seedling sale are certified organic, open-pollinated varieties that are regionally-adapted to grow into plants that will flourish in your Western New York garden.

These are also vegetable, herb, & flower varieties I’ve grown in my own garden & farm for 10+ yearsso I know they’ll succeed in your backyard.

I make it easy for you to buy the vegetable, herb, & flower varieties you want — with an online pre-order window & on-farm pick up dates that will have you spending less than 30 minutes selecting & picking up all the things you want for your garden.

I want you to feel successful with your backyard garden, so every pre-order gets my 3 expert guides:

What Makes My Farm’s Seedlings Different

  • My seedlings are grown from certified organic seed on my farm in certified organic (OMRI) potting mix from Vermont Compost Company.
  • My seedlings are heirloom & open-pollinated varieties that have been chosen for their flavor and their ability to thrive in the Western New York climate. In fact, many of these are the same varieties that I grow on my farm.
  • Since seedlings are grown from certified organic seed, you can be confident there is no GMOs, no fungicide-treatments, no synthetic fertilizers, and no pesticides.
  • I’ve chosen varieties that I’ve successfully grown in containers and raised garden beds, so no matter your backyard situation, you can have success in growing this season.
  • Unlike the nursery, I’ll provide you with tips for the optimal growing experience of your heirloom vegetables, herbs, and beneficial perennials. As a thank you for pre-ordering, you’ll receive my 3 guides:

“The tomato plants I bought from you are THRIVING. They are taller than me & loaded with fruit. I can’t wait for them to turn red so I can make tomato sauce.” – Amelia

Can’t Make Pre-Order Pick Up Time Work with Your Schedule?

You can purchase my heirloom & open-pollinated seedlings at my farm’s stand at the Lewiston Artisan Farmers Market on:

However, my farm does not have the space capacity to bring all vegetable, herb, and flower varieties offered in the Seedling Sale Catalogue to each of these markets. Each week I’ll bring a different selection – to know what varieties I’ll be bringing each week, join my VIP email list.

For the best selection of garden seedlings, I recommend pre-ordering & picking up at the farm on May 16 or May 18. You can send another person in your place if you are not able to pick up yourself.

FAQs

Seedlings vary depending on variety and quantity. The range is $3-$5 per seedling or seedling pack (2 or more).

Yes! Pre-Order your seedlings. That way, you can really think about where & what you want to plant with more forethought. Plus, when you pre-order you’ll receive my 3 guides – How to Plant & Care for Garden Seedlings; When & How to Harvest Like a Pro; & How to Store Your Garden Harvests in the Fridge & Freezer, so you have lots of resources at your fingertips.

When you pre-order, you’ll select the date that you will be picking up your order. I’ll send you detailed arrival directions (with overhead Google map-style photos) so you feel confident when you arrive. When you pull into the driveway, just give me your name – I’ll already have your order packed in a box for you. Then open your trunk or back seat and let me know where you’d like them.

100%! Kids, dogs, whatever! Just as long as there is a spot for me to place your box of seedlings we’ll be good. (Most of the boxes I use are about 18″-24″ wide/long, but it depends on how many seedlings you order – but just to give you idea of how much space we’re talking). And it will be very quick! Last year the longest anyone waited was 5 minutes. So you can keep everyone in the car and (relatively) happy!

For a few hours, in May, yes. I will be watering the seedlings before you arrive, so they will have some excess moisture to keep them ok for a few hours. I’d recommend parking in the shade – if you can find some – and cracking a window or 2 to keep them from overheating. When you arrive home, take them out of the car & give them a long drink of water & put them in a shady spot, to help them acclimate.

No, schedules are busy – that’s not a realistic expectation. To keep them healthy and vibrant before you plant them, give them plenty of water. Place them in a spot in your yard that is sheltered from wind and partially shaded (so they don’t dry out in the afternoon sun). Keep them outdoors (unless nights drop down to below 50 degrees – it’s May, sometimes it’s tricky). Typically, by doing these things you can put off transplanting for 4-5 days.
